Should gym class stress individual fitness over team sports?

I hated gym class when I was young because I was nerdy, unpopular, unathletic, always picked last, and other girls made fun of me. A lot of people I know found gym class humiliating. Would it be better if things like aerobics instruction and weights were emphasized over team sport

Is this a good fitness routine to build upper body strength?

im 15 years old and i weigh 147 pounds. Every other day i do 35 reps with 3kg weights on each arm then i do 15 sit ups 10 press ups and finish off with a 15 minute jog, my first question is is this a good routine to build upper body strength? and my second question is shall i buy a punching bag and add that to my routine?

I think they’re great, especially the weights and running… I can’t do much running (asthma) but I can do weights, thy’re great…!!!
