I’m still researching fitness certifications, and I just came across the ISSA “International sports science association”
And was wondering does anyone know of them and the credibility of the certification they offer.
Thank you:)

It is just okay, but the ISSA, AFAA and the AFPA are not looked out with much credibility in the fitness arena…They have good content, but fitness pro’s haven’t really accepted them as they are online (used to be coorespondance) courses…fitness pro’s only give credibility to “hand’s on training” which is something that you need to consider…

If you really want the credibility factor and you have not yet graduated from college, get the NASM-CPT from the National Academy of Sports Medicine…it is the main one accepted by the major fitness centers such as Gold’s, 24hour Fitness and others…it costs a little more, but it is well worth it if you feel you need to be certified. The other accepted is the NCSA-CPT which is preferable but harder to get.

Once you have your Bachelors Degree, you will want to get your CSCS…It is the most difficult to get and the most respected certification out there…

I looked into the certification process several years ago to see if it would benenfit my business…the only ones that actually have benefit are the NASM, NCSA and the CSCS.
